Happy 2nd Birthday
I can't believe our little girl is already 2! That just doesn't seem possible. I'm sure I'll be saying that with each passing year but SERIOUSLY the time has flown by!
GG Molin with Peanut reading a card. Lilija announced to everyone, "It's my birthday!" when they got to the door.
Carl, Grandma Sherri and Robert
Nana, Bapa, Kari, Grandpa Mikers, and Auntie Alissa
Auntie Trish and Uncle Andy - They got Lilija a mud pie making station with working water and everything! Yup, you KNOW that when they have kids that Carl and I will be more than happy to return the favor. :)
GG Molin got Lilija a sand box for her birthday. She thought it was just a big turtle at first and then was super excited when she discovered that the top came off and there was sand inside of it! She would pat the sand and tell Jack, "Come, sit and play!" (and he listened)
Yummy! First DQ ice cream cake. It was a hit! Happy Birthday Peanut! We love you!
First Haircut
So...yes, Lilija was rocking a baby mullet for a while, and it needed to change. Carl was worried that her curls would go away if we cut her hair, so I did what needed to be done by sneaking her to Great Clips when he was out-and-about. (Curls are still there. You can let out a sigh of relief.)
Lilija wasn't happy at first but as soon as she got a sucker she settled right down. It's amazing what a distraction a little bit of sugar can be!

Baby JJ Jr. and Corbett Family Update
Well, we're in the home stretch! Wow. Can't believe that in the next few weeks a little baby will be joining our family!
We've been doing a lot of work around the house...both inside and out...to try to get things as ready as possible. It's fun to actually have a yard to work on, although it would be nice to have it looking like Mom and Dad's right away. *sigh* A work in progress right?
My new job is going great! I'm really enjoying the learning process and it's nice to leave work when I'm supposed to leave work. What a concept!! Plus, I can just get up and "empty out or fill up" whenever I need to. No more "strategery" involved with planning that around teaching all day long. Sometimes it's the little things in life...
Carl has a lead in the church play this weekend. It's so fun to see him on the stage acting away! He's gotten a lot of compliments and I know that he'll do a great job!
Lilija just figured out that she can get out of bed in the middle of the night. Good thing we put a thingy over the door handle. She cried, I went in and put her back to bed, and she went right back to sleep. Mama, on the other hand, was up for another hour and a half. I guess it's about time to start remembering what sleep deprivation felt like.
We had our home meeting with the middies last weekend. In the picture you'll see Jeanne (she's the go to midwife in the state of MN) me, Carl, Lilija, and Pam (the other other middie. She has been with Jeanne for about 7 years and was with us for Lilija's birth.) We are so blessed to be in great hands! Our loving Father's and our incredible birth team! AMEN!
Love you all,
The Corbett Family

You can even use it as a table!
Who knew that a Pack-and-Play was so multifunctional! Meg-Meg offered to watch Lilija while Carl and I got our taxes done the other night. It was time for Lilija and Jack to eat and apparently Jack didn't like sitting where he normally does because he couldn't see Lilija (whom he calls Lala...SUPER cute!). So Meg-Meg decided to sit them both on the floor and it worked out great! Brilliant!
I found it!
