Now give me a super cute smile!

Watch out world...Calah is behind the wheel!

Sisters

Their first tutus

I picked up a couple tutu's at a garage sale...let the twirling begin!

Boing, boing, boing, boing, boing!

Playin' at the park

I did a Norwex party for Keri and we met in St Cloud to pick up/drop up the goodies. Since we were going to be meeting, we thought that a little play date for the kiddos was in order (sans Leif). We packed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for them, stopped at Chipotle for us, and had a great time playing in the park.

Calah, Keri, Reid, Kale, and Lilija. Kale wanted to dress as a dinosaur and Keri let him rock it out! I love that!

Playing in the train. All aboard!

Wee!

Fun for the kiddos and also for the adults! Score!

Lilija's first day of school

Yes, I am THAT far behind. In the words of my grandpa "geez!" So, apparently I have a little catching up to do. Anyway, here are a few pictures of Lj's first day of school this year. She is back at Mt. Olive and is in the 4's and 5's class 3 days a week. She just loves it, and is having so much time meeting new friends!

Lilija's bike ride

Calah's bike ride

Family day at the park

Picnic in the park

Time for a bike ride...

And then some slides...

Or a ride...

And then a run...

And finish the day of with a stop for ice cream! My kind of day!

How tall are you?

Growing up, we got measured on the wall in the kitchen right after Labor Day weekend. The measuring wall stood there until my parents decided to paint the kitchen. Rude. Kidding. :)

The tradition continues with our girls...except instead of using the wall we have a measuring thing that goes on the wall.

Gunflint Lake pontoon ride

The pontoon.

So, the pontoon. Where do we start this Gilligan-esque story? Well, you start by loading 8 adults, 3 kids, 1 baby, 1 dog, coolers, fishing stuff, and snacks onto a pontoon. (Yes, we were pretty much at capacity.) Then you throw in the Gunflint Lake. Now, this isn't just a little lake, this lake divides the US from Canada and is about 5 miles long, a mile and a half across, and about 200 feet deep.

We had been enjoying a beautiful day out on the lake and had been staying pretty close to the US shore. Well, we decided to start venturing across the lake towards Canada, and a couple people moved from the back of the pontoon to the front. This threw off the balance in the pontoon and we started to go under...in the middle of the lake. (Like picture a miniature Titanic moment) People run to the back, Scott throws the boat in neutral, and the front of the pontoon pops out of the water and a wave comes towards the back. After we do a quick check to make sure everyone was ok and we didn't loose anything, Andy shouts, "My cooler!" We went into rescue mode, and althought we weren't able to save everything, we were able to get his cooler back, some water bottles, and a couple cans of Red Bull. (So, the fishing gear did come in handy, except we had really hoped to catch some fish instead.)

It was one of those moments that we will be talking about for years to come. "Remember the time that we almost Titaniced on the Gunflint Lake?"

Here are some pictures from the day. :)

Family time in Grand Marais

I can't believe I got this picture. Girls on the dock at sunset overlooking the bay. Precious!

First trip running around on the rocks by the lighthouse.

Sitting on the steps of the lighthouse.

Out on the breaker.

Tradition. I'm going to make the girls do this picture until the are at least 30! :)

Throwing rocks in the water (repeat)

The kids favorite thing to do was throw rocks in the water. Nice, because it's free, close to the camping site, there's an endless supply of rocks, and it's just plain fun!

Ok, no rocks in this one, but it's just darn cute!

Hanging out with the girls

First night in Grand Marais, and we are welcomed with a beautiful sunset. Just awesome!

Sun, camping chairs, books, awesome girls, and Lake Superior = best way to relax

Remind me to bring my JLo hat next year and we will both rock them out!

Sisters and matchy match time! Love it!
